A sensible first step into the cloud

Moving everything because a contract is up is how cloud projects become expensive stories. Start with what is painful to run, or what is holding the next piece of work back.

The cloud is a way to rent infrastructure and a set of managed services. It is not a strategy. The useful first step is small enough to finish, and chosen because it removes a real constraint: a server nobody wants to patch, a system that cannot scale for a known busy period, or an environment that makes every new project slow.

Before anything moves, write down what it costs to run today, who is allowed to change it, how it is backed up, and how you would leave. If those answers are fuzzy on the current system, they will be foggier afterwards, and the invoice will arrive anyway.

Reliability is a practice

A well-known hosting logo does not make a system reliable. Restores you have actually tried, changes you can roll back, and someone who notices when it breaks: those do. Move one system, learn how you operate it, and only then decide what follows.

We help with that first move, and with the decision to wait. Both are reasonable outcomes of a careful look.
